Takeaway display: customers read their own status
Two screens: a customer view with in-progress and ready tiles, and a staff handover view. The is-mine-ready question stops the same service.
What it does
Two screens that run pickup orders. The guest reads their own number off the board: red while it is being made, green when it is ready. Counter staff close the order from a separate handover board. "Is mine ready?" stops arriving at the counter.

the server refuses the request, so the decision does not rest on the screen's goodwill

the last list stays up and refreshes by itself when the line returns

Desktop app optional
it plugs straight into a TV and locks down with device pairing
Frequently asked
Does it need a desktop app?
No. It runs in any modern browser, so a TV with a browser in it is enough. There is an optional desktop build if you would rather plug a screen straight in and leave it running with no keyboard on the counter.
